UPDATE
Tumblr media
Finally got an official update from my grandpa on my laptop status:
As things currently stand, all of my wireless/wifi drivers are corrupted, INCLUDING THE BACKUP. He is still working on the repair process, he is going to try and find some way to establish an internet connection and start a process to repair the drivers.
Regardless, if he is able to fix it. I am currently (on my backup crap laptop) and will push hard for if he gets my other one working on pushing my icon/promo comissions since not only will I be backing all my files up to dropbox if my laptop is fixed, but I will also be pooling funds to save for a new laptop.
My goal is to make at LEAST $500 for the cost of the laptop, any extra will be put towards the shipping cost since that shit tends to be expensive.
If you or someone you know needs the kinda icons I make, please hit me up on my icon blog @port-auroraicons
i will only be using my backup laptop for commissions (AT THE MOMENT) as i only have 70 gigabytes to work with. If my other laptop is repaired I will resume rping and doing commissions. Other than that I am mobile bound and hanging out on discord.

Chapter 2: History Class
Cracks In The Dam Series – Bucky’s POV
She’s a quiet engineering and physics major trying to forget the demons of her past, and he’s the campus playboy trying to turn over a new leaf. Their friendship is unlikely, but just might be forged to withstand the cracks in the dams they’ve built to protect themselves. (BuckyxReader college au)

“Hey Bucky,” one of the girls in my history class said with a grin and a wink. I just gave her a slight nod as I finished the rest of my coffee. I didn’t remember her name, but I was pretty sure we’d hooked up once or twice. She didn’t seem too familiar though, so it was probably at least a year ago.
I might not remember the names of all the women I slept with, but I sure as hell remembered their faces. I wasn’t a complete douche.
“Have you started on the term paper we have due?” She shifted her weight, popping her hip out a bit and pushing her boobs forward as she pouted slightly. “I just can’t pick a topic. There are so many good options.”
I wasn’t up for this today. I’d spent all of last night on the phone with Aunt Jeanie, trying to figure out what to do with Rebecca. I was running on about two hours of sleep, five shots of espresso, and a prayer to make it through the day. Chatting with someone who, I’m sure was a great person, but didn’t seem to have much substance around me was just too exhausting.
“I’m halfway done already,” I said carelessly, tossing the empty coffee cup in a nearby trashcan. “Good luck with yours, though.”
And with that, she actually let me pass by. Thank God she wasn’t one of the clingy ones.
Once I was through the doors and into the lecture hall, I surveyed my options. My usual seat in the back was already surrounded by a few of the guys I hung out with and a group of girls. If I couldn’t even handle a conversation with that chick earlier, there was no way I would survive an entire hour surrounded by them.
That left two options: Sit alone or take the seat that always seemed to be open next to Y/N and finally see what she did all hour in her notebook.
It was basically a no-brainer decision.
I’m halfway in my seat before I speak up, giving her no chance to tell me to fuck off. “Another exciting day learning about fifteenth century history.”
“Oh lovely,” she says, not even looking at me. “Another stimulating conversation with Bucky.”
How she knew it was me, I have no idea. But the idea that she was hyperaware of my presence makes me laugh. “It’s been a long two days without me. I know it’s hard, doll.”
“Why don’t you go sit with your harem? I’m sure they need your attention more than I do.”
“Probably.” So she did pay enough attention to me to know where I usually sat. This new information made me grin and sit back in my chair. Was she always this observant, or just when it came to me?
Just as I’m about to say something else, and God knows what would come out of my mouth, she glances at her watch before pulling her phone out of her backpack. Her head shakes slightly as she reads whatever’s on the screen.
“God,” she mumbles. “It’s like babysitting a five-year-old.”
Underneath her slightly annoyed expression is that same small smile she had after that Tony guy drove off on Friday night. “That the dude from your date on Friday?”
“Yeah,” she says almost without thought. At least, I assume it’s without thought because she normally never reveals anything to me. “But it wasn’t a date.”
“Not a date,” I scoff as she types out a text. “Right. Dressed like you were? Doll, that dress you wore was probably more than my last paycheck.”
And just like that, my mind flashes back to that night and that dress. Damn she had a nice body. Just the memory of how she looked was enough to wake me up even more. Sitting by her had definitely been the right choice today.
For the first time since I sat down, she turned in her chair and faces me head on. Her eyes bore into mine and there’s a slight smirk playing around the corner of her lips. Her very kissable lips. Dammit Steve.
“Why so interested in my love life, Barnes? Your one-night stands getting boring?”
And there was the deflection I was so used to from her. So I mimic her posture, leaning forward with my elbows on the desk. “Why so defensive, Y/L/N? Jealous that your best friend found her true love and you struck out on Friday night?”
Her groan was immediate, and it made me smile. This wasn’t just a ploy in our little bantering game. That groan was a genuine Y/N reaction. She probably wasn’t aware, but her walls were slowly coming down around me.
“Oh, God, don’t remind me about Nat and Steve. They’re disgusting. Literally, they’re always making out on the couch or in my kitchen or… ugh.”
Even under her complaining, I could see that she was happy for her friend. She wasn’t one of those girls who got jealous over someone else’s happiness. It just made me like her all the more.
Her phone vibrated again and she read the messages, rolling her eyes.
“Boy trouble?” I can’t help the teasing any more than she can help the glare she throws my way.
“Boss trouble. Gimme a sec.”
As she puts her phone to her ear, I think about her last few words. She’d just excused herself from our conversation. Politely. She probably didn’t even realize she did it, but it was a sign that some part of her liked talking to me.
“Go to the damn hospital, Tony.”
No greetings, interesting. I had a feeling I was about to get a very close look into what made Y/N tick.
“I will drag your stupid ass to the hospital myself.” Didn’t she say this was her boss? “If I’m going to be on my A-Game this week, then you need to be too. I need your brain.” What kind of a boss let their employee talk to them like that? “It’s the whole reason I have a job. I’m going to tell Jarvis to call that ambulance.”
If I didn’t already like Y/N before now, this conversation between her and her boss was certainly cementing it. This was a woman who wasn’t scared to tell someone to fuck off. This was a woman who could give my shit right back to me. This was the kind of woman that I wanted – no, needed –  in my life.
“For fucks sake, man. I’ll do the presentation. Your brain is your best asset and no-no, don’t say anything. I regret that word choice already. You need to make sure you didn’t fuck up and ruin it.”
Seriously, what kind of a person did Y/N work for? Whoever it was, she was familiar enough to cuss him out while trying to take care of him. For someone who was pretty quiet around most people from what I’d seen, this was a whole new layer.
“I’ll believe it when a doctor tells me that.” And, without any farewell, she hung up. In the next second, she was dialing another number. “Jarvis, I’m overriding whatever stupid command Tony gave you and telling you to call a goddamn ambulance. Override code: Please and thank you.”
I learned more about her, but there were so many more questions piling up now as she hung up. Her eyes flashed over to me and I grinned. “I’ve never heard anyone talk to their boss like that.”
“You’ve never met my boss,” she said with a weary voice. “You’d understand.”
My mouth opened, but I was once again cut off before I could get any words out. The professor started the lecture and I listened with half an ear. History was interesting to me and I spent a lot of my life searching out the stories on my own, so I knew enough to be able to give only half of my attention to the professor.
The other half of my attention started wandering to Rebecca and Aunt Jeanie, but I quickly pulled it back into place. I could worry about them later. Things were a mess, but I couldn’t let it overtake my entire life.
So I glanced down to Y/N’s notebook to see what kind of a notetaker she was. Instead of dates and names and events the professor was saying, her page was covered with drawings and calculations. I knew she was smart. Nat wouldn’t shut up about how smart Y/N was. But I’ve never seen her in action. She was entirely focused on whatever the hell she was trying to figure out. Arrows, numbers, and scribbled out equations littered the paper.
Just as she got another text and read it on her watch, I leaned closer and saw what looked to be a drawing of a boot.
She muttered something under her breath, probably about the text, and I leaned closer. She obviously wasn’t paying attention to class, so I wouldn’t be distracting her too much. “You a fashion designer or something?”
Obviously not, since most clothes didn’t require advanced calculus.
“Or something.” Her hand on my shoulder pushed me away a bit. “Dude, personal space.”
A few minutes passed where she just stared at her paper with squinty eyes. I could practically hear the gears turning in her head. Damn, I wish I could see her thought process. Instead, I leaned over and pointed at one of the boot-looking doodles she was staring at. “If you’re wondering what color to make it, I’d go with a bright green.”
“Not helping.” She was so focused on her notebook. Why had she even come to class today if she wasn’t going to pay attention? Either she already knew all about the Ming Dynasty and the spread of Islam into Africa, or she was so lost by this point in the semester that paying attention wouldn’t do any good. If the latter was the case, I could use that to my advantage.
For the rest of class, I made my plans. From what I’ve learned about her so far, getting Y/N to spend more time with me was going to be difficult. I had to play my cards just right. She was a busy woman, so carving out any portion of her schedule would already be like climbing Mount Everest. And there was the fact that my reputation preceded me, so I would have to overcome her preconception that I wanted to spend time with her just to get into her pants.
Not that I didn’t want to get into her pants. Any guy would be an idiot to refuse her. And, like Nat said last weekend, any chick would be an idiot too.
But I needed Y/N in my life to keep my sanity. Between her, Nat, and Steve, I felt like I had a chance of making it through my last few semesters of college and talking some sense into my little sister. Three people who weren’t afraid to call me out.
I needed Y/N. Even as just a friend.
“Well, that was a fascinating lecture, as usual,” I said, holding back a grin when Y/N snapped her head up with wide eyes, surprised that class was over.
“I sure hope none of that’s gonna be on the test.” Her weary mumble gave me hope. So she didn’t have a clue as to what was going on in this class.
Good.
That was what my entire plan was built on.
Now I just had to figure out how to bring it up… It wasn’t until we were outside the classroom that I decided to just come out and say it.
“You know, I could help you out with this class.”
“You?” She seemed far too doubtful. “Really?”
Did she really think that little of me? “Hey now, just because I’m hot and sexy as hell doesn’t mean I can’t be smart too. You should know.”
“Right,” she scoffed. But I wasn’t sure if the scoff was directed towards my comments about me or about her. She obviously knew how smart she was. But she had to know how attractive she was, too. I almost said something, but then I caught sight of the way her forehead was scrunched up a bit and the way the corner of her mouth twitched. She was considering my offer.
“No strings?”
“What kind of strings would I attach, Y/L/N?”
She stopped right outside the door and turned to stare at me. I wasn’t unused to having people’s eyes on me, but something about Y/N unnerved me. I tried my hardest not to let it show, though.
She was so close to accepting. I could see it. I just needed to find the right way to tip her over the edge. Coming right out and offering to help her seemed to get her attention. Suppose it couldn’t hurt to be completely truthful.
“Okay. Fine. One string,” I amended.
“Ha! I knew it.”
Tell it like it is. Y/N was friends with Natasha. She had to be used to blunt truths. If I was completely upfront with her, my chances at actually being her friend had to be better, right?
“One string…” I looked straight at her. “Friendship. That’s it. I promise. I’ll help you, but you have to admit that we’re friends.”
“Why?” She was completely taken aback. I guess that friendship wasn’t a request she ever expected from, what had she called me two weeks ago? The campus playboy bad boy?
Since the truth thing seemed to be working, I kept with it. I knew exactly how she would take my reasons, so I just decided to own up to them. “Alright, this is going to make me sound like a complete douche, but it’s the truth, I swear.”
“Spit it out, Buck.”
Buck. Not Bucky. Not Barnes. That was a good sign.
“I like this.” I gestured between us as if there were some sort of a string, or an invisible blob of whatever the hell our relationship was at the moment. “Because you’re not into me. Besides Nat, you’re the only other woman who doesn’t try to get my attention or get into my pants. It’s refreshing.”
Her face twisted into fake sympathy. “Poor Bucky. It must be so hard to have all the women falling over themselves for you. Being the resident sex-god must just be the worst.”
Resident sex-god. Campus playboy bad boy. I would have to file these away for the next time I updated my resume.
I mean, she was right to some degree. “I know, I know. Douchey, right?”
“It’s conceited, is what it is.” Now that the offer was out there and she could start processing everything, she started moving again. I easily kept pace. “I can guarantee you that Nat and I are not the only women who don’t wanna sleep with you. You just never notice the girls who don’t pay any attention to you.”
And that’s why I needed her to be my friend. That’s why I needed her in my life. She called me out on my bullshit and took my ego down a notch. If I was ever going to make it through whatever drama comes with Rebecca, I needed people like her around me.
“You’re probably right. But about our deal, whattaya say, friend?” I had one last argument up my sleeve. “Besides, we’re gonna spend a lot of time together anyway, with Nat and Steve dating. Might as well accept the inevitable.”
She glanced at her watch again, reading the message that came up. Her lips quirked up at the message, then she looked up at me and her smile changed a little, but it was still a smile. That was a good sign.
“Let’s see how the first study session goes.”
My grin was instantaneous. I was going to be late for my next class if I didn’t hurry, so I started walking backwards, away from wherever she was heading. “Tomorrow at one? Grab some lunch while we’re at it?”
“I have to work all day. I can do Wednesday at one though.”
It would be tight with my schedule, but I couldn’t chance her cancelling. “I’ll meet you at your place with food then. See ya later, friend!”

Limiting Capacity May Be a Death Sentence for Suffering Restaurants

As some states plan to reopen economies, restaurant owners worry that opening at reduced capacity could ruin their already-limping businesses
When cases of COVID-19 were first reported in Memphis, Tennessee, in early March, Kelly English was quick to close dine-in service at all three of his restaurants. But on April 27, when Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland announced a tentative reopening plan for the city, which includes reopening restaurants to diners, English didn’t start planning a return to normal. He intends to stick to delivery.
“We aren’t rushing to [reopen],” English says. “There’re a lot of factors that go into this. I love my staff, I’m very sensitive to the fact that they’re not working right now. And I’m also very sensitive to the fact that we need to make good decisions for the long term, to make sure that those jobs still exist.” English says that once dining in is allowed in Memphis, his decision to reopen will ultimately be a slow one, first observing how maximum occupancy regulations are enforced at other nearby restaurants and seeing how they fare before he makes a move. He already has a sense for how his restaurants might do at half capacity: “If you came to me, a restaurant with 12 tables, and said, ‘You’re at 50 percent capacity,’ I’m screwed.”
English isn’t the only restaurateur wary of opening hastily, making yet another change to their daily operations.
As some states across the country allow businesses to reopen with limited occupancies, there are still serious obstacles in the paths of restaurant owners. In those Tennessee counties that have already reopened, restaurants can’t exceed 50 percent of their maximum occupancy. Restaurants in most of Iowa will also have the option to reopen at half capacity. Those in Alaska will be limited to 25 percent capacity, and will only seat diners who make reservations in advance.
Ryan Pernice, who owns three restaurants north of Atlanta, didn’t jump with excitement when Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp released a list of 39 guidelines in advance of a push to open certain businesses — including restaurants — on April 27. Most notably for restaurant owners, the guidelines do not allow more than 10 patrons per 500 square feet in dining rooms. After Pernice closed his restaurants on March 17, leaving just one of his restaurant kitchens open for delivery, he sat down to crunch some numbers.
Even with the lights and the walk-in refrigerators turned off, running a restaurant remains an expensive endeavor. Pernice decided to continue paying for services, like pest control, that couldn’t just be ignored, as well as major costs like rent and outstanding vendor invoices. To break even and cover expenses at Table and Main, Osteria Mattone, and Coalition — his three restaurants — would cost $4,128 a day. Though he’ll take the measurements and rearrange the tables to see if reopening is feasible, Pernice can’t imagine hitting that number with only half of the seats in his restaurants occupied. “Not having run the numbers, I seriously doubt that in Table and Main, a tiny restaurant of 1,800 square feet, that I could make more doing sit-down dining than I can right now through our takeout … I think there’s very little to be gained by being the first to this party, in terms of opening the dining room again.”
Though some restaurants in Atlanta and across Georgia made the decision to reopen to diners, others echo Pernice’s sentiment: They’d rather stay closed until opening doesn’t feel so perilous. Glenn Singfield II owns two restaurants in Albany, Georgia, a city that has been hit hard by the coronavirus. Last week, two of Singfield’s friends passed away after contracting the virus, and his aunt just recovered. With a diabetic mother at home, Singfield spent the better part of last month at home with his parents after closing both of his restaurants. Just last week, he reopened Albany Fish Company, the smaller of his two restaurants, for takeout and curbside pickup. The Flint, his 10,000-square-foot location, remains closed.
“I’m going to support my governor, and I want to support my mayor and my civic officials,” Singfield says. “But I still have a choice. And our choice was to continue to do business as we’ve been doing it until we can see a major curve in coronavirus. And until we can find a conscious way to make sure our customers, employees, and ourselves can be safe.” Though he doesn’t know when he’ll reopen his restaurants, Singfield has already rearranged Albany Fish Company, and is putting up plexiglass partitions to separate diners from servers. He’s having a harder time imagining what the Flint will look like when it reopens. “When you’re at a fine dining restaurant, it’s an experience that you come for, not just the food. If you’ve got to wear hazmat suits, and you’re spaced out, what’s the purpose of it? We do live music, it’s a party every Friday and Saturday night. But I’m not going to jeopardize anyone’s safety for anything.”
Half occupancy doesn’t add up
On weekends, a line stretched out the door of St. Kilda Cafe and Bakery in Des Moines, Iowa. Alexander and Whitney Hall, the restaurant’s owners, would pack guests in, the din of service rising as the restaurant filled to capacity with diners stuffing themselves with breakfast tacos, pastries, and all sorts of breakfast-appropriate cocktails. Restaurants in Des Moines — in one of the state’s hardest-hit counties — are still operating under tight restrictions, but as restaurants in 77 other counties begin to invite diners back inside with spaced-out tables and a limit of 50 percent capacity, it’s certain Des Moines will follow after.
These occupancy limits are a serious hurdle for cafes and restaurants across the country that rely on busy weekend service. “That weekend is so vital to daytime cafes … We do 75 percent more revenue on Saturday than we do on Tuesday, for example. So if we lose that weekend we’re relying on being bustling and busy, it would make us hemorrhage even more money,” Alexander Hall says. “I know the restaurant business pretty well. I’ve been doing it for 27 years, and at 50 percent capacity restaurants don’t work. Unless the landlord gives you 50 percent rent, and MidAmerican energy is giving you 50 percent off the [energy] bill.”
In New York, the prospect of dining at a restaurant is still hard to imagine, and some restaurateurs are trying to envision how they might operate their restaurants at half or quarter capacity. As they crunch numbers and drag tables away from each other, they’re not much more optimistic than Hall. “Our busiest services are weekend services in particular, where we like to pack them in and pack them out,” says Claire Sprouse, the owner of Brooklyn all-day cafe and bar Hunky Dory. “They carry the rest of the week for us.” If the restaurant saw only half of the weekend customers it did before the coronavirus, Sprouse estimates her restaurant would bring in 40 percent — not half — of what it once did. “For us to survive, we would need to be doing a fair amount of takeout to make up for those missing seats. … Something has to give.”
The cost of reopening
For restaurants that already operated on razor-thin margins, reopening isn’t just a judgment call. When the time comes, it will cost Alexander and Whitney Hall $15,000 to reopen their largest restaurant. Glenn Singfield reckons it will take $25,000 for both of his restaurants to become operational again. To switch the lights back on, restock all of the refrigerators and bulk bins, bring in a cleaning crew, it’s an extremely expensive ordeal.
To reopen at such high costs only to serve a half-full restaurant isn’t feasible for many restaurateurs who were barely holding on already. “It is not as simple as turning on a light,” says Pernice of his three restaurants. “We’ve been trying to turn as much inventory as we can to cash. We’ve been trying to get everything that’s worth a dollar out of the restaurant. If we are to open, it will cost a lot of money to restock. And we in effect haven’t been open for six weeks. So there’s some planning toward how we use the precious money we have.”
Singfield says he’ll have to “piece it together” when it comes time to find the funds to reopen his restaurants.
For many of these restaurateurs, there’s a concerning backdrop to the already-difficult conversations being had about the risks of reopening at limited capacity. Restaurant owners who accept Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans are in a bind, as the loan is only forgivable if all full-time staff are rehired by June 30. How, these restaurant owners are trying desperately to work out, can they hire back their entire staff if their restaurants are only operating at half or quarter capacity?
In New York, and other states that have yet to reopen, and where occupancy limits are inevitable once they do, a PPP loan can feel more like a burden than a gift. “It feels really scary to take on potential debt even though it’s like, maybe forgivable when the timeline for reopening is so vague. And then there’s no clarity about whether or not we can open in a full capacity,” says Carla Perez-Gallardo, a co-owner of Lil Deb’s Oasis, a snug neighborhood restaurant in Hudson, New York.
Lil Deb’s Oasis has a legal capacity of 30 people, and the restaurant’s owners can’t see a way to hire back their full-time staff members while serving a half-empty restaurant. “The pressure is on businesses to pay their employees that they’ve hired back, at a time in which they may not even be able to pay their rent,” says Perez-Gallardo. “It feels like an odd narrative to be moving toward at a time where it doesn’t feel possible.”
The path forward is extremely uncertain for restaurants, whether they apply for and are given a PPP loan or not. Resources and guidance across the country are limited, and restaurant owners are left to ask questions that no one, it seems, will answer. “For us, the best-case scenario would be to have flexibility with our landlord and for our local and our federal government to provide some relief or guidance in how to move forward,” says Sprouse, who applied for a loan but has yet to hear back. “Right now it’s like they’re putting a Band-Aid over a severed leg.”

Lil’ Deb’s Oasis has a legal capacity of 30 people, and the restaurant’s owners can’t see a way to hire back their full-time staff members while serving a half-empty restaurant.

What can I do about car insurance from another state? PLEASE HELP!?
Okay basically here's the story. I'm 19, I live with my parents in Wisconsin but I'm trying to move back to Pennsylvania with my aunt and uncle. However I'm not in school at the moment. Apparently if I moved to PA, I'd have to pay 278 dollars more a month through Geico because I'd be living in a different state. I already have a job set up there and all so they could obviously see my paycheck is not from Wisconsin so I can't just lie or something lol. I really know nothing about insurance and how I can work this out without paying that much more. Can anyone help me with other options I could have?""

RAC CAR INSURANCE HELP!?
I purchased car insurance from RAC last year, they then annulled it as said I could not use my no claims bonus on two cars and sent me a new quote. I rang them up and they then said I haven't sent the no claims bonus documents in so I faxed them through once again, I advised I received this letter but they said just send in the documents which I did. I also never received any documents for my cover so had to request these myself which were sent by email for 25.00 :S. After hearing nothing back I rang rac for an update who said my new insurance quote was double the original quote!! I haven't signed any paperwork or received any paperwork advising they automatically gave me new insurance. I asked them to cancel but they said I have to pay 1000 as well as them keeping my deposit and paying for the first months insurance..1000?? I told them no. Paid what i owed for the first month. Now they are sending me letter telling me to pay..do I really have to do this?? I haven't signed anything even for the original insurance as they never sent the paperwork out, and as the insurance was annulled can they really automatically start a new insurance without my permission?? Thanks in advance""
Is the premium the only determinant of how much your health insurance costs?

Why did my lawyer tell the car insurance company to pay PIP directly to me when I asked to have my bill paid?
I spoke to my auto insurance company because my lawyer took two months to file my personal injury protection claim. Once, I took action into my own hands then I was assured that the woman handling my case from my car insurance company would see that my PIP paid for my medical expenses because I don't have health insurance. However, another month has passed and I have heard nothing from my lawyer about my case even though I call his office every week. So, today I received a letter in the mail from my lawyer office to my claim insurance person. It has her name on it but my address so I am not sure if it was intentionally sent that way or not. Yet, I read over it and it tells my insurance claim to pay the PIP directly to me and not to the medical company. What do I do about this? Has anyone gone through something similar and can you give me some helpful advice? I don't know if my lawyer is trying to add my PIP with the rest of the money that I will get so he can get a bigger chunk or if he is trying to get my PIP to me instead? I do know that I would like to pay for my medical bills as I am a college student in debt and don't want anymore hassle.""

Honda CBR 600 insurance...should i get collision?
I just bought a 1995 CBR F3. My first bike I got last year was a klr250, rode it since last summer all year (no car for me), even rode in the snow for the hell of it. For the KLR250, my insurance was 200 a year all minimum with only like 500 for comprehensive. For the CBR, my insurance im looking at is going to be 200 a year without anything, only the minimum liability. I like the fact of how cheap it is, but even though I have great experience with motorcycling, should I just go ahead and get bare minimum insurance? Bike cost me 1800 dollars, awesome condition. valves all good, just putting in a manual CCT this week. Its cheaper than the KLR (i got it for 2k), but i dont know why im feeling i need so much more coverage this time. Maybe cause the bike is CLEAAAAN. What yall think?""

Problem with my car insurance company?
Just before new year, sitting stationary at a roundabout, old guy bashed into back of me. Exchanged details and went through the insurance. Car Insurance for Teens?
What can we expect for a 16 year old to pay on a monthly base if he has his OWN insurance (as in not co-insured with the parents). This would be in Texas. Cheap cars with cheap insurance?
I'm learning to drive soon, BUT every member of my family and I are all broke. Long story short, I need some examples of cars that are cheap to buy, have cheap insurance, run well, and don't drink fuel like a goldfish in water (as I will be using it to get to college and back then later uni and back). PS, I live in England, so no cars that are about as rare as an honest politician in this lovely rainy country- even if it is the best car in the world, I'm way too lazy to search for it.""

Teen girl car insurance premium?
I was wondering if anyone had an idea of about how much it would cost me. I'm buying (maybe) a 2004 ford focus with 53k miles on it, but it's going to be under my stepdads name (I only have half the cash right now and I need a car to get back and forth from classes in a couple weeks when I start at a local university so he's buying it and I'm paying him back). We also have a stage 3 2014 roush and a 2012 Nissan Titan on our plan. I know the (6 month?) premium on the roush is a little over 1300, but I'm not sure about the Titan, and im not sure if that will affect it. Im pretty much wondering about the insurance on the focus considering the fact that im a 17 year old teen. I have a part time job and I'm a full time student, though and that helps a bit. LoJack on a motorcycle or comprehensive insurance?
I just bought a brand new bike and I live in Florida where bike theft is very big. I want to get some protection as soon as possible. Comprehensive insurance which would cover theft will run me about 730 per year with a 500 dollar deductible. The Lo Jack unit will cost me about 800 installed and it is a one time fee, no monthly payments and it lasts forever. The recovery rates on a bike with lojack are very good from what I've read, I just want to see what everyone thinks. These are the two options and please only answer if you have good knowledge of lojack and how well it works. The only problem is that it doesnt cover things such as damage during theft, storm damage, and things that the insurance would (Then again it still has that 500 or 1000 dollar deductible). An alarm would possibly be an option but I'm leaning towards the two I discussed above. Just let me know what you think because I dont want this bike leaving without me on it.""

Car leasing and insurance question?
Okay, so I'm 20 years old and in need of a new car. I'm looking towards leasing the 2013 Honda civic. The car itself is going to be under my fathers name, since he is the one who will be taking out the loan, however I will be the actual driver. However, my mom is the one who has taken care of my car insurance for the last 3 years. I am listed as a driver on her policy. I've heard that the person whose name is attached to the car MUST have the car insured in their own name, but my parents are MARRIED and my mom takes care of the insurance. Is it possible for me to have the car in my dad's name, and the insurance in my moms? Thanks in advance for your help !! I sincerely appreciate it.""

How much will my car insurance be as a new driver?
I'm learning to drive as a necessity for a new job, but I am struggling to get a reliable estimate of the insurance premium I should expect once I have a car. I know that nobody will be able to give me a precise figure as it depends on so many variables, but I wondered if anyone would know what to put into a quote generator to get something accurate? I'm female, in the UK, 27 years old and will need a cheap and cheerful 5 door hatchback. Unfortunately I don't know enough about engine sizes and that sort of thing to know if I'm answering the questions on the form realistically. I tried compare the market and got a cheapest quote of 3,700 per annum - does this sound right? I know it will be expensive but even so that seems very high for a 1999 Vauxhall Corsa! (the car I used to get the quote). I do realise this is a very subjective question but any advice is greatly appreciated - at the moment it is looking like I won't be able to take up a dream job offer as all I will be doing is working to pay for a car that I oly got in order to take the job :(""

Help with car insurance claim process?
A few days ago I scraped a co-worker's vehicle in our work parking lot. She wasn't in a proper parking space, but whatever, it was clearly my fault. I am paying for repairs to her car. I have pictures of my vehicle after the accident, but not of hers, because she left for the day while I was trying to find out who I had hit and find her in the building. I haven't brought this up with my insurance company yet. I initially thought I was going to be paying for scuffs to be buffed out of her back bumper, which wouldn't be cheap to fix but I figured it'd be inexpensive enough that I wouldn't involve my insurance. Today she handed me an estimate for $600+ for bumper replacement and paint work, etc. Fine. It was my fault. I'll eat it. But if I now want to involve my insurance, what do I do? Do I need her insurance info to file a claim? If I call up my insurance, does her insurance have to also become involved? I'm not even fixing my car - the fender's messed up but it's an old car and cosmetic damage doesn't bother me. Was Obama's health care/college system comparison valid?
Tonight President Obama compared the public health care option to the public system of Universities and colleges. He said the public option will work the same way public colleges and Universities without inhibiting a vibrant system of private colleges and Universities. This is a fool's argument and a total apples to oranges comparison. Let me explain, first almost all private universities receive funding from the federal government. The federal government is not going to provide funding for private insurance. The second reason is it's common knowledge that the best Universities in the U.S. are private schools such as Duke, Stanford, and the Ivy League. These universities fill most of the highest paying jobs in the country. Some jobs even go as far as to require a degree from one of these schools (Stock Brokers on NYC Stock Exchange.) These highly paid graduates can donate larger amounts of money back to their respective colleges than the average Joe who graduated from a generic state funded university. No one is going to donate money to the private insurance companies. We can't even get all the people who qualify for insurance to sign up and that's the problem! Look, I have no way of knowing whether the public option will work or won't but when faulty logic is used to support it I become concerned. When most of the people supporting the public option are from California (a state where the middle class is few and far between) I become more concerned. When most of the Senators and Representatives who support the public option say they would prefer the U.S. had a single payer system (that's total government control of health care if you didn't know) I become very concerned. The reality is no one knows what the effects of public option will be. Also, the success of FedEx is not any proof that public option won't hurt private companies because an independent council regulates the mail industry. No independent council is mentioned in any of the plans in the House or Senate. yes or no""

The policy currently covers rental cars, and is cheaper than the insurance the rental company offers, so I'd like to keep it. should i go ahead and cancel my auto policy, even though I will be driving other cars before i purchase another?""

Why is my home insurance quote so high?
I am buying a home next month and have been shopping for home insurance. The cheapest premium I've been quoted is 1,800/year. I have done research and it seems most people pay 600-1000/year. I have never owned a home (so no claims) and I have never used my renters insurance to file a claim. I'm 26 with a 710 credit score. The home is 2300sqft and I am asking for 250,000 in coverage. I even raised the deductibles to see if that would lower it, which it didn't really make a huge difference. Any ideas?""
How to get a good quote for my car insurance?
basically, i've got 1 year no claims with direct line car insurance for the past year( only 1 year driving experience). i was paying 85 for fully comprehensive, and was 24years old when applied for the insurance. i just received a letter from direct line for my renewal, and now it's gone up to 109. i was wondering what might cause it to increase, and if now am over 25years should i really inform them (if it's gonna make a difference). is it advisable to switch to another company for maybe cheaper deals?! p.s i have a vauxhall calibra year 1995""

What insurance is best for women?
I don't currently have insurance, but I want to start going to a gynecologist to see why I'm not getting pregnant. The co-pays are horrendous, like $150 per visit w/o insurance! I cannot afford that every time I walk in, but I can afford about $80 a mo for insurance, but IDK what kind or which to choose that will help me through the gyno visits, and possibly a fertility specialist. If anyone knows the best route for this kind of medical attention, please provide websites or names of insurance companies that apply to this. Also, I live in a small town in GA and there are NO near-by specialists or anything as such, so I'm sure to have to travel at least an hour or more to get the help I need. No, family planning centers, no women's health centers, nothing! So if there's anyway someone could give advice for that, please do. Thanks so much.""

Do I qualify for low cost Health Insurance?
I'm under 21 & still living at home. I live at home with my mother & sibling. My mother can't afford insurance through her work beings it'll be almost 1/3 of her paycheck a month. I work part time as a waitress making under 5,000 a year for now as I look for a full time job. So my question is: Do I qualify for any type of low cost health insurance to cover just myself? I've tried looking on sites like health .gov but because my mom has insurance available through her work it's basically saying i'm screwed out of insurance of my own. I need all 4 wisdom teeth pulled asap, as well as basic medical check ups & such that I can't afford on my waitressing salary. I really need all the help I can get. The cheapest way to change insurance to a new car whilst keeping current car insured whilst i sell it?
Hi, I am 20 years old and I have just bought a new car. I am trying to find the best and cheapest way to change my current insurance ( with one years no claims) to my new car and then i need to insure my old car whilst I sell it. My current car insurance policy on my car runs out on 15th February 2013 and I have cancelled my renewal. I have received the renewal which is proof of my no claims which will be transferred to my new car. Another question is... can I claim the one years no claims on my new car whilst it still runs out for a week on my old car? I have looked at temporary insurance for my current car but this was almost 400 for 28 days?!?!? If insurance companies want me to do it the legal way, they are not making it very easy! Any advice on the best way around this would be great. I know it's confusing! Thanks, Adam White""

Question about first insurance quote for a young driver?
Last week I used autotrader to search for numerous quotes and found one for around 1450. Today I passed my driving test, and went back to the quote but it had to be renewed since last week which is fair enough. The lowest value today was 1576 which I am alright with. I refreshed the page a while later to find that quote had disappeared and the cheapest was 1620, with the company for that quote (elephant) at the bottom with an unable to find a quote detail. I thought it would come back soon, so I refreshed the page and then suddenly the price increased to 2950 minimum and many of the cheaper companies were now listed as unable to find a quote. Strange, but perhaps the websites are too busy to send data. An hour on though and the price is still 2950. Did anyone else have this problem? If so when was it fixed, the same day or next day? Thanks""

Harmpeti / Shutterstock As some states plan to reopen economies, restaurant owners worry that opening at reduced capacity could ruin their already-limping businesses When cases of COVID-19 were first reported in Memphis, Tennessee, in early March, Kelly English was quick to close dine-in service at all three of his restaurants. He already has a sense for how his restaurants might do at half capacity: “If you came to me, a restaurant with 12 tables, and said, ‘You’re at 50 percent capacity,’ I’m screwed.” English isn’t the only restaurateur wary of opening hastily, making yet another change to their daily operations. “Not having run the numbers, I seriously doubt that in Table and Main, a tiny restaurant of 1,800 square feet, that I could make more doing sit-down dining than I can right now through our takeout … I think there’s very little to be gained by being the first to this party, in terms of opening the dining room again.” Though some restaurants in Atlanta and across Georgia made the decision to reopen to diners, others echo Pernice’s sentiment: They’d rather stay closed until opening doesn’t feel so perilous. But I’m not going to jeopardize anyone’s safety for anything.” Half occupancy doesn’t add up On weekends, a line stretched out the door of St. Unless the landlord gives you 50 percent rent, and MidAmerican energy is giving you 50 percent off the [energy] bill.” In New York, the prospect of dining at a restaurant is still hard to imagine, and some restaurateurs are trying to envision how they might operate their restaurants at half or quarter capacity. … Something has to give.” The cost of reopening For restaurants that already operated on razor-thin margins, reopening isn’t just a judgment call. So there’s some planning toward how we use the precious money we have.” Singfield says he’ll have to “piece it together” when it comes time to find the funds to reopen his restaurants. Lil’ Deb’s Oasis has a legal capacity of 30 people, and the restaurant’s owners can’t see a way to hire back their full-time staff members while serving a half-empty restaurant. “The pressure is on businesses to pay their employees that they’ve hired back, at a time in which they may not even be able to pay their rent,” says Perez-Gallardo. “It feels like an odd narrative to be moving toward at a time where it doesn’t feel possible.” The path forward is extremely uncertain for restaurants, whether they apply for and are given a PPP loan or not. “Right now it’s like they’re putting a Band-Aid over a severed leg.” from Eater - All https://ift.tt/2SmVRYY
